Recept for 'Hollandse Oliebollen' in 2 languages. For Thai translation look under the English version.
For 15 big or 25 small 'oliebollen'
-500 gram Flour (plain flour is ok) -30 till 40 gram fresh Yeast or dry yeast as much as they say on the package (probably 7 gram) for the 500 gr flour. -1 egg -0,5 liter (5 dl) warm milk - half teaspoon salt
- 200 gram raisins / currants (don't need, only use when you like)
Put the raisins/currants in warm water and wait 10 minutes. Then drain the water and dry the raisins/currants shortly with a tissue. Stirr the yeast in a bit warm milk and add to the flour. Add the rest of the milk to the flour and mix well (with mix-machine or by hand). Add the egg, salt and raisins/currants and stirr/mix again till all is mixed well.
Put plastic over the bowl and let it rise for an hour. (at livingroomtemperature)
Make (sunflower)oil hot till 180-190 degreeC. Use 2 spoons to put bolls in the hot oil. Table spoons for small bolls, bigger spoon for bigger bolls. Turn so now and then till the boll is goldenbrown (around 4-5 minutes).
