The balance justification is contained in the Balance Summary; the format is determined by the format assigned to the reconciliation.
Account Analysis Format—The following items are included in the Balance Summary section for account analysis reconciliations:
Source System Beginning Balance—The balance from the most recent account reconciliation.
Net Activity—The difference in the account balance since the last reconciliation.
Balance Imported from the Source System—The balance imported from the source system or manually entered by the preparer.
Explained Balance—The total of the reconciliation's balance explanation transactions.
The difference is the Source System Balance minus the Explained Balance.
Adjustments—The total of the adjustments made to the source system transactions that were entered into the reconciliation.
Unexplained Difference—Source System Balance minus Explained Balance minus Adjustments.
